Hey Ya'll...
Yeah, I'm alive. It's been a few days since I've posted but I have been so busy and by the time the end of the day comes, I'm too tired to post. Sad...right? Yeah.
The "secret"I have is leaving me physically and mentally exhausted..and sometimes even emotionally.
It will get better, I promise...soon...soon.

Bless Their Hearts...
When people "Google" something, they are normally looking up something they need to know or truly care about. With that being said, I have a stats counter on my blog and it does a keyword analysis and it seems alot of people are finding my blog through Google by searching for "Nanny McFee"
Can you imagine what people think of this blog when they come here looking for Nanny McFee stuff, and the only thing written about it is how it's supposed to be like Mary Poppins and Mr. thinks she's hot?
This is such a proud, proud moment.

What A Downer...
Today Mr. had a doctors appointment and I thought I would go with him since I am having problems with water retention AGAIN. I have PCOS which a major side effect to PCOS is water retention, been battling it since I was a teenager. Anyway, once we got in there I was telling her about my ankles swelling real bad and she told me to check with Paula to see if she could "fit me in"
So, once my file was pulled they weighed me, I had gained another 3lbs in 2 weeks. None of us were surprised because my puffiness from the fluid was noticeable. So, they took me into the room to check my blood pressure, 173/101, yeah you read that right. I thought my dr. was going to have a stroke! So, she sat down to have a serious talk with me. We are increasing some medicines, decreasing some and adding some. She was so close to sending me to the hospital and it scared the hell out of me.
So, by this time I was in tears telling her that as soon I think something is going right in my life, 10 things goes wrong. Its always been that way. So, once we tackled the blood pressure and water retention, we moved on to my weight. She's not happy. And now more than ever I really need to watch it. So...I guess we will see where it goes from here. I have an appointment next week with her.
Oh, BTW, you know the ear problem I had a few weeks ago? Well my hearing FINALLY came back for the most part, but she checked my ears today...and the fluid is back and is infected AGAIN. According to the ENT dr. that if I continued having fluid in my ears that he will have to put tubes in. I guess we can worry about that another day, I've got enough on my plate right now.

Speaking Of The Old Lady...
Want to know what I have noticed lately? If I sit still for 2 minutes to watch tv or read a book...I fall asleep. I used to call this the "old lady syndrome" and for awhile now, it doesn't take much for me to fall asleep and wake up 1 hour later. Last night after sitting on the couch to watch Sex and the City that I TiVoed I felt I was getting tired, so I turned it off and started watching Roseanne (which in my opinion is the best show ever) and figured if I watched it I would stay awake. Right? Wrong. The next thing I knew, The Cosby Show was playing and the dogs were snoring. So, I got up and went to bed. Getting into bed I woke Mr. up to tell him that I fell asleep on the couch, SITTING STRAIGHT UP, and that I am some old woman with the old woman syndrome now. Now, want to know how the love of my life, my best friend conforted me?
"Well, it happens when you get older!"
I totally would have gotten up and slept on the couch but I had already been sitting still for longer than 2 minutes, and we all know what happens then.

Have I Truly Crossed Over?
You know in your neighborhood you have a crazy lady? I think I have truly crossed over to being the crazy lady on my street. But last night I was watching Dog The Bounty Hunter on A&E, did ya'll see it? It was the episode where they were looking for a guy and he ended up playing semi-football in California. Well, the bond was for $75,000.00 and if they didn't find him they were going to have to pay it.
Anyway...they received a tip saying he was in Ca. so they took off from Hawaii (where they live) to get him. After going to the football team and they said they didn't know him and chasing this guy all over the city and running into blocks along the way by the end of the show they found him. Want to know what happened next?
I started bawling! I was so happy for Dog and his crew. NOBODY should get their feelings into tv like I did... Mr. just sat there staring at me. I totally think he was rethinking the vows we took when we got married. Or maybe he was picturing how I will look in a straight jacket.
But before long I will have 45 cats and be referred to as the crazy cat lady...I can totally see it happening

I Know A Secret...
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take,
But by the number of moments that takes your breath away~
There's something that is going on here in Aiken. I know what it is, Mr. knows what it is and a friend knows, but nobody else. Once I find out the results of the secret I will blog it here. I feel our families need to know and we will be telling them soon, hopefully. It is something I have wanted for a long time, at this point I am hoping it is going to turn out the way I want it to. I was told by a friend to relax and it will happen. This friend, who will remain anonymous for now, is one I can talk to about anything and never get told that I am wrong for thinking the way I do, or overreacting the way I tend to do. At this point in my life, I need support and encouragement..and hopefully I will receive enough from family and friends to get me through the next couple of weeks.

TiVo Land...Here I Come!
Well, TiVo (actually it's a DVR through our satellite) is installed. And I am officially baffled on how to use it! I am lost! Shocking, ain't it? I had this whole list of things I wanted it to start recording, but I don't know how to program it. I read the little book he gave me, it makes NO SENSE at all. I can already see myself, sitting on the couch in the morning at 3am with no sleep still trying to figure it out! Oh God Save Me Now!
Let's all say a little prayer, shall we?

My Family? They Are Getting Nuts!
What happened to families putting fun in dysfunctional?? (This may end up being a long post..but trust me..stick with me and you can say at the end...wow! my family is normal!)
Let me break it down for ya...
In my immediate family I have my parents, maternal grandma, maternal grandpa, and paternal grandpa. My grandma passed away 5 years ago.
So, this coming up weekend is the Aiken Trials. For all of those who doesn't know, they're horse races here in Aiken, getting the young horses ready for the future Kentucky Derby. (Yep, many many KY Derby winners are from here..Yaayyy us!) I worked for days to get the perfect tickets...had to go over many peoples heads to talk to MORE important people just to get these tickets. But, finally...I have railside tickets and it's gonna rock! Or at least I thought...
Normally every year Mr, my mom and grandma J goes. Well, this year my dad and his dad, my grandpa, decided they wanted to go..which I thought would be wonderful since neither one of them have been to the races...ever. So, plans were made and tickets were bought. Sounds perfect? Right?
Yeah right, nothing can be simple. My grandma and mom came down to visit this weekend so we could get things ready. And I some how VOLUNTEERED my grandma to dress up like a leprechaun for a St. Pats Day party on Friday so we had to go rent the costume. Well, going down the road on Saturday out of nowhere she said, " If (grandpas name) comes down I won't be coming next weekend. My brilliant response to that was, "Huh?" So, she went on to say that since she is married and my grandpa is a widower that it wouldn't look right to be in the same house. Now, let me say this..we have PLENTY of room in this house and they would not be sleeping in the same bed, not even in the same room. So, after laughing, yeah I do that when I'm losing my mind...I ask her if she is serious? And how come she's lost her mind. She said it's just not right with her being married and her husband not down here. It's not like we didn't tell him not to come. We invite him all the time and since his brain surgery he gets real nervous when he leaves the house. So, he just stays at home.
So, my MOM being the peacemaker she is...she said she would handle it. This is after while driving down the road headed towards Augusta I announce..."Then you know what? The hell with it! Nobody will go!" Mr. sitting in the backseat with a bag in his hands to pick of the pieces when my head explodes!
So, we decided to go out to eat Saturday night at my favorite restaurant/bar. Now my grandma is very umm..how can I put this nicely? Hhhmm..Strict Christian with backward views? Alright, we will go with that. So, a friend of mine (a man) bought us some sweetart shots (vodka, sweet and sour, and sprite) and gave us all one. Ok, 2 things happened that she is still fussing about..1-a man buying me a drink and 2- alcohol touched HER table! Hell busted wide open and was trying to pull us in!!! So, after announcing "You ruining my liver, my kidneys are failing and that I am going to hell for hanging around this Honky Tonky (yeah she called it a honky tonky) and drinking..and what about Mr?" I said," yeah he likes them too!" LOL Hell, if I have to spend eternity in hell for sweetart shots..I'm taking someone with me!
By the way, they are VERY good and should have had more than 2! Yep, I took hers!
So, mom decided to tell dad this morning that he is gonna have to tell his dad that he can't go to the races because then my grandma won't come..and dad responds to stuff like this, like I do. He said, " So, she will be staying home, right?" So, mom sits back and doesn't say anything because I really believe she is afraid of telling her mom that the world doesn't revolve around her.
So, at this point, I say nobodys going, Dad says leave grandma at home, Mom just says this all makes her nervous, Grandpa doesn't know whats going on, and Mr....Well, he's plotting a way to get the hell out of this family!
Oh, and all weekend I had to hear from my grandma how she doesn't like..
My hair.
My toenail polish.
My choice in clothing. ( I show too much sometimes) (It was a V-neck shirt)
My shoes.
My weight.
My way of decorating the house.
Sighs. Man she knows how to build ones self-esteem.

Mary Poppins, Nanny McFee and Me..
My mom and grandma came down for the weekend and my grandma mentioned she wanted to see Nanny McFee and wondered if it was on DVD. I told her there is a movie theatre in Augusta, GA that shows some of the "older" movies, so we called and it was playing..starting tomorrow. So, coming back from supper tonight with Mr. and grandma in the backseat, they were talking about the movie tomorrow and how it is supposed to be like the updated Mary Poppins then he said it....
You ready for this?
He said, " I always thought Mary Poppins was hot."
Yeah I am still in a state of shock.

A Sandwich Only Elvis Could Love...
For the last week or so, I have been nauseated so haven't really felt like eating. And cooking? The smells? ACK! So, Mr. has become the house chef. He can cook mac and cheese (kraft all the way, baby), spaghetti and sandwiches.
At least I THOUGHT he could make sandwiches until tonight.
Tonight, after he was exercising he asked what I wanted to eat..and I said a grilled cheese sandwich. He was like, microwave it? Yes, we are King and Queen Microwavers! I told him no, just take some bread, butter and cheese and throw it on the stove in a pan.
30 minutes later...he brings me a sandwich..it only looks like one because I saw the bread..but it didn't look right. Being the wonderful and gracious wife I am, I took it and waiting until he walked out of the room to take a better look.
He put a WAD of butter on the INSIDE of the sandwich with the cheese and there was a pool of melted butter! Bless his heart, I started laughing and he got this look of confusion on this face, until I told him the order it was supposed to be done.
So, supper tonight? Girl Scout cookies!

I Know I Am..But What Are You?
You Are a Boston Creme Donut |
You have a tough exterior. No one wants to mess with you.But on the inside, you're a total pushover and completely soft. You're a traditionalist, and you don't change easily. You're likely to eat the same doughnut every morning, and pout if it's sold out. |

She Who Doesn't Laugh...
....Needs a sense of humor!
Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. Yayy! I know, right? Anyway, Mr. and I decided NOT to go to mass because..
1. We don't keep palm leaves in our house (like my mother-in-law does)
2. We are lazy. Period.
So, MIL called today and asked what we planned on giving up for lent. Since she THINKS we always go meat free on Fridays, which she knows we don't, but she keeps dreaming..I wanted to sound all perfect and said the first think that came to mind..
For lent...I'm giving up Rap music!
Okay Mr and I were giggling about it...because Hey! We thought it was funny!
She TOTALLY didn't.
I love my MIL..truly I do (all except she accusing me of having an affair awhile back) but sheesh...lighten the load a little and LAUGH!
